Samsung Exynos 7 9610 SOC Launched with support of Deep Learning

Samsung Launched it Exynos 7 Series 9610 Chips with the support of deep learning image processing. It’s a new mid-range mobile processor, this newly designed processor offer lots of cool advanced feature like it supports slow-motion video recording in full HD resolution with 480 FPS. though the list of the smartphone, going to support this new chip is not yet announced and the production of this chip is will start from mid of this year.

The Exynos 7 Series 9610 is our latest mobile processor that delivers on added power and speed,” said Ben Hur, vice president of System LSI marketing at Samsung Electronics. “But more importantly, it sets a new performance standard for high-end devices with its deep learning vision-image processing solution and slow-motion video capabilities that change the way we engage with our mobile devices.”

The Exynos 9610 SoC has 4 Cores of Cortex-A73 at 2.3 GHz and 4 cores of cortex-A53 at 1.6 GHz, it has Second Generation Bifrost-Based ARM Mali-G72 GPU and supports LPddr4 RAM. Connectivity Options, here Samsung has provided all-network LTE modem supports Cat. 13 2CA at 150 Mbps for uplink and Cat. 12 3CA at 600 Mbps for Downlink. The Exynos 9610 SoC also has 802.11ac 2×2 MIMO Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, and FM radio. and there is a 4-mode Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver to offer GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, and Galileo.

The Exynos 9610 Build on Samsung’s 10nm FinFET process and comes with a neural network engine that enables some extra new feature like enhanced face detection and image processing, the company is touting the advanced face detection feature enable the camera sensor to recognise faces that are either not facing forward or even partially covered with some objects such as hair or a hat. The SoC is also capable of support single camera out-focusing and augmented low-light images. and its also offers the smart depth sensing for more precise bokeh effect and portrait mode using a single camera, this reminds me of what Google has implemented in their Pixel 2 devices, with a just single camera it takes out great portrait mode with all the bokeh effect with just a hardware and software tweak, which many devices need a Dual Camera(a dedicated telephoto lens) setup for that. furthermore, the Exynos 9610 merges multiple frames, with vision and image processing to enhance the signal-to-noise (SNR) and brightness – eventually, to improve images captured in low-light environments.

The Exynos 9610 has 480fps support as well as 4K video recording at up to 120fps in HEVC (H.265) format. The image signal processor (ISP) present in new Exynos 9610 soc improves the performance by 1.6 times more than mobile industry processor interface (MIPI) speed. the performance what we are getting in new Exynos 9610 SoC is like what earlier we are getting with Exynos 9810 SoC. Exynos 9610 supports up to 24 Mega-Pixels in single camera and up to 16 Mega-Pixel in Dual Camera setup.
